Radiator Caps
A great addition to the PRP line is the Radiator Cap. PRP’s gleaming radiator cap starts with a premium 16 pound radiator cap. The cover is made from 6061 Aluminum and is either polished or black anodized. Once the cover is colored it is installed to the 16 pound radiator cap.
What is the main purpose of a Radiator Cap?
As the vacuum builds in the cooling system, a function of the two-way check valve comes into play. At a predetermined vacuum, the radiator cap allows coolant to be sucked from the reservoir back into the engine. If there is sufficient coolant in the reservoir, no air gets into the engine. in other words the radiator cap acts as a pressure valve.
