How We Started

In the beginning it was Philadelphia Automotive Technologies and our focus was creating competitive engines for automotive, marine, pro-street, drag race and circle track with special expertise in the restoration of ‘50s, 60s and 70s cars.

In 1991 Philadelphia Automotive moved to our location in Northeast Philadelphia. Which is a short distance from either interstate 95 or the PA Turnpike. This 12,000 square foot building is crammed with experience and a love of racing.

Breaking Into PRE & PRP

In 1997 the company split into two different entities, Philadelphia Racing Engines and Philadelphia Racing Products.

Philadelphia Racing Engines (PRE) still focuses on creating one of kind high powered engines. We are proficient in competition carburetor work as well as facets of competition machining, heads & manifold porting and flow work. We also have an engine Dyno to test your engine before you hit the track.

Philadelphia Racing Products (PRP) grew when a CNC milling center was added to the equipment. Since then, through hard work and love of racing, PRP has been able to break into performance parts manufacturing with its own state of the art racing products line. Some of PRP’s advanced products include the revolutionary Dual Return Spring Throttle Bracket, Fuel Cell Cap and Water Pumps.

Today

PRE is still a one of kind engine shop that creates amazing engines and completes head, block and cylinder work on a daily basis.

PRP has quadrupled its size since 1997 and now has a product line of over 1,000 part numbers not including our private label products. Now with over 50 years of experience in racing, we know what makes a good part and make sure to track test it. Because our goal is to make sure anyone who aspires to become more successful can do it.
